- M.A. degree in the field of environmental policy, sustainable development, environmental studies or related field (PhD preferred, or someone currently working towards their PhD in related field)

- Excellent command of English (both written and oral), Proficiency in Dutch

- Experience with teaching and working with international students (preferably American students)

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Job Description
The candidate would be expected to teach CIEE’s summer course ‘Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Innovation in the Netherlands’. This course (see attached preliminary syllabus) incorporates guest speakers and various guided site visits having to do with several themes related to environmental engineering and sustainable innovation in the Netherlands. CIEE is searching for a professor/instructor to tie together course themes by means of more general lectures on the topics at hand as well as providing a core text for the program and a reader (collection of relevant articles). The professor for this course is expected to oversea the general fluidity of the subject matter, bringing in politics and Dutch policy as a ‘coat hanger’ for the various themes, forming a coherent whole. The instructor for this course will most likely give an introductory lecture in the mornings at the CIEE study center in Amsterdam and will be expected to go along on most of the guided site visits as well as comment on the guest speakers for the various themes, thus giving more direction on the subject matter when needed. This is the perfect opportunity for scholars currently working on their PhD looking for teaching experience.

Duration: 3 weeks (June 27-July 18, 2008)

Pay: Salary will be comparable for experience.
